Human or Humane?

When people see me in the sreets of Chicago wearing my "the humane race" shirt, they ofter mistake it for "the human race" shirt. But when i ask them to read it again they usually get it right. "Oh the hu MANE race" they say. That's when i ask them what do they think the e stands for. I've gotten lots of interesting answers.
